Gecko Galz February Customer Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends!   It's February 1st, and that means time for a new challenge a the Gecko Galz blogspot.  This month our theme is 'Vintage Ladies'.  Today I am sharing my entry into the Gecko Galz Customer Challenge.  Come join us for fun and prizes!

Gecko Galz Products Used:

February Kit Club items used:
Pink Rose Frame COQ110 from the Coquette Icons
Cute Little Coquettes Collage Sheet
Coquette Icons 2 Pink lady COQ125 and Fan COQ116
Parisian Dreams Paper Pack PD01 and PD12

From the new February collage sheets:
Vintage Tags Collage Sheet

From the January Kit:
Love Potion #9 Icons - Love Ticket

Instructions:

Begin with a black card base.  Print out two background papers from the Parisian Dreams paper pack. Attach one of the backgrounds to the base covering the top two thirds of your card base.  Create a pocket by either cutting or tearing a different background and attaching to the bottom part of your card base attaching by the edges only using score tape or ATG tape.  Be sure to cut or tear this piece at an angle so you have a sizeable area on which to attach your main image later.

Print out the Cute Little Coquettes collage sheet and cut out the image of your choice.

Print out and fussy cut the pink rose frame from the Coquette Icons.  Fussy cut around the flowers and leaves at the top right so that you can tuck and attach your coquette image under the roses.

Using pop dots, attach this frame to the card,  making sure not to attach the upper left portion of the frame so that it doesn't interfere with your tag pocket.

Cut out the pink lady from the Coquette Icons 2 and attach her with pop dots, again making sure not to close up your pocket.

Cut out the fan and attach with pop dots at the bottom right corner.

I then added a piece of music note patterned washi tape to the bottom of the card to coordinate with the music note tag, but this is optional.

Attach the love ticket from the Gecko Galz January Kit Love Potion #9 Icons, or other sentiment of your choice.

Print out the collage sheet Vintage Tags.  I used the one with the music notes as it has a blank white area in the center on which to write a private little note before tucking it into the pocket.

Tuck the tag into the pocket.

Fun with Gecko Galz Papercraft Challenge Group - Entry Number Two

Here is my second entry into the Gecko Galz Papercrafting Challenge Group "Color Challenge - Using Cream and Gold".  For this challenge I used a Gecko Galz image from our January Kit, the first of our monthly kits available in the Etsy store individually or by yearly subscription.   From the same kit is the word banner which was part of a digital stamp that I cut apart.   Everything else on the card was bits and pieces that were laying around my desk, and a couple of chipboard shapes by Gina's Designs (a key and a double heart).  Don't forget to also stop by the Gecko Galz Blog to see what the design team has been up to, and to enter into the monthly blog challenge!

I wish to enter this card into:

Fun with Gecko Galz Papercraft Challenge Group - Entry Number One

Today I'm sharing the first of my monthly entries into the Gecko Galz Papercrafting Challenge Group on Facebook.  Each month there are several fun challenges to enter, all with different themes.  You can enter as many times as you want for the opportunity to win free collage sheets.
...............
First up is my entry into the "Not A Card" challenge.  I altered this little wooden purse I got at Michael's a while back.  It's small,  with the work space (not including the handles) just short of 4 x 4 inches.  I covered the box with the brand new Valentine themed digital papers from My Artistic Adventures, using matte Mod Podge to adhere the paper.  The papers are gorgeous, and there are more matching paper sets in other patterns now available in the store.  The Vintage Valentine image is from the Gecko Galz - Very Vintage Valentine collage sheet.  I added a few laces and embellishments from my stash to complete, and I used my new heart shaped doily die from spellbinders.

I wish to enter this into the following challenges:

Holiday Card for The Gecko Galz Facebook Paper Challenge Group

Hello Friends!  Today I have a Holiday card to share.  I am entering this fun and colorful card into the Holiday Cards Challenge in the Gecko Galz Facebook Paper Challenge Group where each month you will find plenty of fun challenges to enter in many categories with free collage sheets for the winners!  We also have a monthly theme-based challenge on the Gecko Galz Blog.  Come visit and play along!

The bow underneath the Santa circle-shaped image was cut from one of the other images on the Old Fashioned Christmas collage sheet.  All images are elevated with pop dots for dimension, and I've added stickles for shine, but the sparkle doesn't really show in the photo.  The doily behind the Santa image is lazer cut cardstock from Gina's Designs.

I have used two collage sheets from Gecko Galz in creating this festive card.

Visit the Gecko Galz on ETSY where you'll find tons of backgrounds and images for your Holiday cards!

Santa Clock - My First Gecko Galz Challenge Entry

I'm so excited to have completed my first project using Gecko Galz products.  I am not officially part of the team until 2015,  but I couldn't wait to get started,  so I am entering this fun piece into the Holiday Decor Challenge in the Gecko Galz Facebook Challenge Group where each month you will find plenty of fun challenges to enter in many categories.  We also have a monthly theme-based challenge on the Gecko Galz Blog.  Come visit and play along!

I began by painting the dimensional chipboard clock by Gina's Designs with gesso, followed by a cherry red acrylic paint.  On top of that I painted Tim Holtz Distress Rock Candy Crackle Paint. When that was dry I rubbed on some gold distress paint and wiped it off quickly so it settled in the cracks.  I followed that with some Bright Gold Gilder's Paste around the edges and on the feet.  I also added some gold microbeads to the bell on the upper right.  I used collage sheets from the Gecko Galz to decorate the inside and the bell on the left hand side of the clock.  I then finished up with some stickles, some sparkle texture paste spread inside, and a tiny bottle brush tree from my stash.

Gecko Galz Christmas Icons (the Santa face image and the holly from the bells with holly image)

Other:  Gina's Designs Chipboard clock and Intricate Doily used as a background inside the clock.

Thanks for looking!

Exciting News to Share!

Just here today to share some news.  The post below was my final post and project as a Design Team member for Gina's Designs.  I had an amazing three years with the team as one of the original founding members.  During my journey,  I really learned a lot, and I gained more confidence and insight.

As I discovered myself artistically, I really wanted to try new things, and just couldn't find the time to add anything more to my existing crafty commitments.  In looking around for teams that offered challenges that were new and different, I happened upon a design team call posted by The Gecko Galz.  I loved their theme-based monthly challenges, blog hops,  and cross promotional projects with other digital design teams.  It was just the opportunity and new learning experience that I was looking for.  Lucky me when I found out I had made the team!  I have so much to learn from them in the coming year.  I hadn't realized that there are so many challenges out there that I wasn't even aware of.   Next year will be about having fun, and leaving stress behind.  Thank you Gecko Galz for believing in me.  I look forward to having a great time, and I'm hoping I can bring something creative to your 2015 team!
